Education is at the heart of integration
We believe learning brings people together. It builds confidence, understanding, and a sense of belonging—and that’s why education is part of everything we do. Learning does not stop, and neither does community. As our community grows and changes, we grow and learn right alongside it.
Our meetings and community sessions are open to everyone. These sessions cover a range of topics from learning new skills to professional development. Members of the receiving community are welcome to join conversations that help build understanding of immigrant experiences and challenges, creating stronger connections and mutual respect. Everyone comes together at social gatherings that create relaxed, welcoming spaces to connect, learn from one another, honor immigrant cultures, and celebrate the many ways immigrants enrich our community.
Some of our community’s most powerful resources are the immigrants themselves. Many already act as informal guides, offering support to their neighbors. Our Natural Helpers Program recognizes and builds on this grassroots leadership.
Through training, resources, and recognition, we empower these trusted individuals to serve as community navigators and cultural brokers, helping others access services, understand local systems, and find a sense of belonging. In return, Natural Helpers grow their leadership and communication skills and create valuable community connections.
We run two groups of Natural Helpers. One group is for our immigrants, and the other for our allies. Both groups receive similar training in Spanish and English, as well as opportunities to interact with one another.
Adjustment to a new country often brings emotional pain, which can include trauma, stress, and migratory grief. Working with qualified, culturally and linguistically appropriate professionals, we will match individuals with peer support specialists who understand their needs. Our community center further supports this healing journey by helping individuals implement their peer support specialists’ recommendations and continue on a path to recovery and well-being.
It’s a partner organization dedicated to providing support with a group of certified peer support specialists who share similar experiences, whether it’s a mental health condition or a substance use disorder. This team provides encouragement, advice, and emotional support to one another, creating a reciprocal relationship based on mutual understanding, respect, and empowerment.
Juntos holds regular women’s group meetings, Cafecito con las mujeres, which is a safe space for women to share, listen, talk, and showcase their talents.
We hold monthly Chats in the kitchen (Charlas en la cocina) to connect and learn about each other’s cultures while cooking and spending time together.
Immigrants often face overwhelming barriers when dealing with the complex social, healthcare, legal, and community systems. We connect immigrants with the services they need—both locally and remotely. Whether it’s connecting them with trusted immigration attorneys, helping them understand court processes, or protecting them from scams, we want to ensure immigrants feel informed, supported, and empowered throughout their legal journey.
